All members, as well as those who are interested in knowing more about WHC, are invited to attend the meetings located within our District. We try to include educational opportunities within each of our meetings, and want you to enjoy getting to know other members.

Wisconsin Horse Council has a wide variety of committees and projects, some within our district and others that are statewide. We encourage you to find one or more to become involved in!

Upcoming Events/Projects:

Poker Ride Fundraiser - October 14th - 9AM - 2PM
Have fun and win money! Ride around the trails at Silverwood Park (near Edgerton) and collect poker chips, which you will trade for playing cards at the end of the ride. The top 3 poker hands and the worst hand win prizes! Don't know how to play poker? Don't worry, you don't need to.

This fundraiser ride is hosted by the WSHC District 4 and Friends of Silverwood Park to help build equestrian trails and facilities at Silverwood. Cost is $30.00 per Rider and includes lunch. Coggins Required! Register before Septembre 21st to recieve an extra card for your hand, or register on the day of the event between 9 and 10am.

To register early: please send a $30 check made out to WI Horse Council District 4, and a copy of your horse’s coggins certificate to: FOSP P.O. Box 304 Edgerton WI 53534.

Event held rain or shine. Also today, there will be a silent auction, grower's market, pie and ice cream sale, petting zoo, live music, and tours of the historic farm and gardens. Fun for the whole family!

Lots of easy trailer parking. Water on site for horses. Port-a-potty available. Helmets encouraged for riders. Hikers and cart drivers are also welcome to attend (same $30 fee applies).
We are looking for sponsors for this event, as well as donations for our silent auction.

Traillhead Sign Project

The purpose of our sign project is to place weather-resistant signs at trailheads where riders, hikers, bikers, and other trail users may meet. The signs will instruct people how to yield to horses without spooking them. Heather Lekan and Sheralyn Eppli co-chair this committee. They will be researching materials, getting price quotes, organizing fundraising, and presenting signs to the friends groups of parks and the DNR for approval.


Here is an update to our Trail Signs project:

The WHC Trails Committee has donated $1000, and Districct 4 has donated $500 to purchase multi-use trail signs explaining trail etiquette around horses for the following parks:
